The following information was revealed during our interview with Marcus Tillman:

What makes you such a good defensive end? "I just want to be the best. It is just my drive."

Physically, what are your strengths on the field? "I am fast enough to pass rush and big enough to step in the hole and stop the run. I think it is my speed though. That is the biggest thing."

What are you working on for the next level? "I just need to keep lifting hard, you know. And I like to run track to keep my quickness, and I play basketball to help my footwork."

Tell us about your basketball ball season."We lost to Holly Springs in the Championship game. Dawkins, their point guard, he just kept making 3 after 3. That is why we got down so fast. But, I mean, it was a good year. We gave ourselves a chance to win it all. That is what you have to do."

Which events did you participate in track? "I just throw the discus and shot put, but I run in practice."

What were your best recorded throws in both events last season? "My best in the shot put was 35 feet. I finished 2nd in State last year. I got put out in District in the shot put. My best last year though was 42 feet in the shot."

Tell us about your football season last year? "We made it to the South Finals and got beat by Lauderdale County. We had no business losing that game but we did. I think we are a physical team, and I think we will be next year too. That is going to give us a chance to win it all this year. We have finish this year."

What were your stats for the year? "I had 16 sacks, 26 hurries, 2 pass deflections, 50 tackles, and few forced fumbles and recoveries."

Any awards? "I made All-District and 2nd Team All-State (MAC). I might get a team award later."

Who are the main schools that are recruiting you? "The main ones, I would say Mississippi State, LSU, and USM."

Any early scholarship offers? "MSU, USM, LSU, and Texas A&M."

Which schools have caught your eye? "I like Mississippi State, then LSU, then USM. Texas A&M is too far."

Have you been to any Juniors Days or practices this Spring? "I went to LSU's Jr Day. I was suppose to go to Ole Miss', but we played in the championship game (basketball) that day. I think I am going to go to MSU's on April 2nd. I was going to go to Auburn's too, but it was on the same day as LSU."

What is your interest in Ole Miss? "I like them, but it is just far from home, real far."

What about Auburn? "I do not really know too much about them yet."

What are MSU's positives? "Well, I really do not know much about them, but people put in a good word from around here. Them other two, people put in good word from around here too."

Who is from "around here"? "Just people in town."

Which schools are you referring to? "LSU and USM."

What do you like about LSU? "It is big. They win, you know. They are going to be a pretty good team every year. They havea good academic support group too."

And what are USM's positives? "I have not been down there yet. But some of my good friends who graduatd last year go to USM now. They talk real good about it. They say it is cool over there."

Where all did you camp at last summer? "Ole Miss and LSU."

Where do you plan to camp at this summer? "I will probably go to LSU. I want to go to USM and MSU and probably Ole Miss."

What are going to be the main factors in your decision? "I just want to be in a good environment and be around nice people. I do not want to go to a place where I am going to always have to worry about my car getting broken into or anything like that. I want to get away from all of the crazy people, you know what I mean. I want to be in a church environment and Christian people."

Where do you stand academically? "I have a 3.3 GPA and a 19 on the ACT."
