The following information was revealed during our interview with Shay Hodge:

What makes you such a good wide receiver? "Mainly my speed, hands, and breaking tackles."

What do you need to work on? "My routes, no doubt."

How long have you been starting for Morton? "For two years."

All at WR? "No sir, I played QB mostly."

What were your stats as a junior? "I do not know yet. They have not told us."

Any awards? "I made 2nd Team All-State at safety. I was named Best WR in District 6(3A) and I made All-District."

I thought you played QB last year? "Well, I played QB for the most part, but I moved to WR in game 8. I had 13 catches for 396 yards and 7 TD's in the last 3 games."

Did you start at safety too? "No sir, they just put me in there when the game was tight."

Which positions are you going to play during your senior campaign? "Wide receiver and probably cornerback."

What are your expectations for your senior year? "For our team, I want us to make it to the championship game. For myself, I want to win MVP for District 6(3A) and win Best WR again."

Which schools are currently recruiting you the hardest? "Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, MSU, Georgia Tech, and USM."

Any early offers? "I have been offered by Georgia Tech and Ole Miss."

Have you had a chance to visit any of the schools you are interested in this Spring? "Yea, I went to Alabama and Ole Miss' Jr Days. I am fixing to go to MSU's Jr Day (April 2nd) and a practice of Auburn's."

Which schools have caught your eye so far? "Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Alabama."

What attracts you to Ole Miss? "One thing, Deuce came from here. Deuce has always been my role model. I also like their facilities and coaches."

What do you like about Alabama? "Their coaches."

Was there any differences in the two school's Jr Days? "Ole Miss' seemed better. They spreaded us into individual groups. Alabama just had us in one group. Ole Miss told us about how their system is going to work, and Alabama did not say anything about their system. I just learned a lot more at Ole Miss than I did at Alabama."

What about Tennessee; what all do you like about the Vols? "I have not been there yet. I just have always watched them on TV growing up. I like the exposure they get."

You did not mention MSU and Auburn in your favorites but you are going to visit both in the near future; do you not have any interest in them? "I have some interest, but I do not think I want to go to either school. Maybe that will change after I visit them, but right now, I just can not see myself at either school. I really want to go to Florida but they have not sent me anything yet."

What are you going to be looking for when it comes decision time? "Good coaches and a place to get a lot of exposure. That is really about it."

What is your current academic status? "I have a 2.4 GPA and a 17 on the ACT.
