Lavarus Giles (RB, MS Delta CC, MS) - The Rebels lost their running back for the future when Ray Brooks product, Lavarus Giles, failed to qualify.

Giles had a nasty recruitment coming out of high school that ended up in the papers and caused a stir around the Mississippi and Alabama states. Will it get even nastier the second time around?"> Lavarus Giles (RB, MS Delta CC, MS) - The Rebels lost their running back for the future when Ray Brooks product, Lavarus Giles, failed to qualify.

Nobody knows for sure, but it does look like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Alabama are once again going to be the main players.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Lavarus Giles:

Where are you currently enrolled? "At MS Delta CC."

How did your freshman season at MS Delta CC go? "It was good. I just did not play much. I hurt my ankle before the start of the season and missed the first 5 games. Jamie had taken over the RB job by then, so I had to play behind him. We went like 4-5 on the year."

What were your stats? "I did not even keep up with them. The only thing I know for sure is that I had 3 TD's."

What most have you improved on since you arrived at MS Delta CC? "I am a lot stronger and faster. I ran a 4.4 back to back last year."

What are your working on for the next level? "I do not know. I am just working hard, man, at everything."

What are your expectations for your sophomore year? "I just want to stay healthy and do what ever it takes to win."

Who are the main schools that are recruiting you? "Man, there are a lot of them. Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oregon, Auburn, MSU, Alabama, Washington, USM, just a bunch of them."

Who is showing you the most interest? "Ole Miss."

Any early offers? "They all tell me they want me."

Do you plan to resign with Ole Miss? "I do not know. I might. I do not know."

Does the fact that the staff you signed with out of high school, now being gone at Ole Miss, hurt the Rebels? "Kind of. I have to get to know what the new ones are all about all over again."

Have you had a chance to talk to the new staff at Ole Miss? "Yea, a bunch. I just called Coach Orgeron last night."

What did he have to say to you? "That he is ready for me to come up there so he could meet me face to face."

Anybody else you spoken to at Ole Miss? "Pretty much all of them. I know them by phone, but I have never met any of them."

Who are some other schools that have caught your attention? "MSU really, well, really all of the schools who are interested in me."

What all do you like about MSU? "I met their coach the last time he came to our school. We talked. I like Coach Croom. He is all about business."

Have you had a chance to attend any college practices this Spring? "No sir."

Going to any? "I might go up to Ole Miss' Spring game next weekend."

What will be the main factors when it comes decision time? "Man, it will come down to one thing. Where can I go where there are not any running backs. I will only have two years."

When are you scheduled to graduate from MS Delta CC? "I get out in December. I went to summer school last summer, and I am going back this summer."

How is your brother, James Giles, doing? "Good, they moved him to FB this Spring. He played slot back last year."

Do you two still want to play together on the next level? "Yea, that would be nice. We live together here (at MS Delta CC). We have lived together our who life."
