The following information was revealed during our interview with Benji Maher:

Are you being recruited as a fullback prospect for the college level? "Yes sir."

What do you do well at fullback? "My love for the game gives me great intensity. I run hard, and I had more receiving TD's than I had rushing TD's, so (that tells you I have good hands)."

What are you working on to take your game to that next level? "Speed, speed, and more speed."

What were your stats from the 2004 campaign? "I had 66 rushes for 276 yards and 7 TD's. I also had 22 receptions for 518 yards and 8 TD's."

How did Jackson Academy fare on the field last year? "We went 11-1 and won State for the 2nd year in a row."

Did you garner any awards? "I was named North AAA All-District, Best Offensive Back, and that is about it."

Which schools are currently recruiting you? "I get letters from Notre Dame, Vandy, Rice, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, MSU, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Marshall."

Which school is the most serious with you right now? "Right now, LSU, I get more letters from them. I do not know if that means they want me more than the other schools. They just send me the most paraphernalia."

Have you had a chance to visit any of the schools you are interested in? "Last fall, I went on two unofficial visits to LSU. I went to Alabama and Ole Miss' Jr Days. I am going to MSU's this weekend."

Who did you pull for growing up? "I was really big on the SEC. I always pulled for the SEC teams."

Which schools have caught your eye up to this point? "That is kind of difficult. I guess I would say Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU, and Alabama."

What attracts you to MSU? "I like Coach Croom. I think he will be a good coach in time. I think the program is going to be better than it has been for the past few years. I think it is going to take off."

What are Ole Miss' positives? "I met Coach Orgeron. He seems like he is real energetic. He really loves the game of football. They look like they are going to have a pretty good program."

What all do you like about LSU? "They have had a couple of good years. The last couple of years they have done well. I have been down to Death Valley and seen all of them fans and stuff."

And Alabama? "Coach Shula. He loves Alabama. He really cares about his players and program."

What will you be looking for when it comes decision time? "A school that really uses their fullback in the passing game and also runs it a little bit. Their coaches, program, and education will also play a part in my decision."

Where did you camp at last summer, and where are you going this summer? "I went to Ole Miss last year, and I will go back to Ole Miss in June, and also go to MSU, LSU, Alabama, and maybe Notre Dame."
