Jamal Harvey has the Rebels in the lead
Harvey (6' 1" 190, 4.56) sees himself as a possession receiver with pretty good speed.
Harvey has actually had no contact so far from any of the Ole Miss Coaching Staff. He was given his offer through his Head Coach. When hearing of this news, Harvey was ecstatic as his cousin, Michael Hicks plays free safety at Ole Miss.
Jamal currently has a top five that consists of Ole Miss, Central Florida, Florida State, Florida, and Miami. Ole Miss so far is his only offer. "My favorite right now is definitely Ole Miss". "It's great that Ole Miss has offered me because they have always been my favorite school", he said.
The standout WR has not been able to attend any Junior Day Events so far. "I haven't been able to attend and Junior Day Events due to baseball and working out for next season." The star WR currently doesn't know where he will camp this summer.
Harvey doesn't know as of right now where he will take all of his official visits, but does know that one will without a doubt be to Ole Miss. "I know for sure that I will take a visit to Ole Miss", he said.
Jamal currently likes four instate schools along with Ole Miss. "I like Central Florida, Florida, Florida State, and Miami because they aren't too far from home." Harvey said that the fact that those schools aren't far from home has played a large part in why they are in his top five.
He offered a few comments on why Florida is in his top five. "I would love a chance to play in "The Swamp" and Florida has always had a great program. They are going in the right direction under the leadership of Urban Meyer."
Harvey stated that he has followed the Florida State Football Program since he was a kid. "I have grown up watching Florida State Football and I'd really like a chance to be part of their program."
Central Florida is an up and coming program under Head Coach George O' Leary and Jamal had this to say about the Golden Knights, "They have struggled a bit the past two seasons but they will right the ship under George O' Leary. I think I could really come in and compete for playing time right away at Central Florida."
Miami also made his top five and he gave us a comment on the Hurricanes. "Miami is always a powerhouse program, they put a lot of players in the NFL and not many schools can say that."
Many factors play into the decision of a HS recruit as to what school they will choose. Jamal has put a lot of emphasis on schools that aren't too far from home but said, "Ole Miss is definitely not too far away. I would love a chance to compete at the highest level in the SEC and play alongside my cousin, Michael."
It seems that Jamal has a lot of interest in the Ole Miss Program and it will be interesting to see if the Rebels remain his favorite throughout the recruiting process.
Jamal is currently qualified GPA-wise and will take the ACT this month.
