The following information was revealed during our interview with Aubrey McPhadden:
What are your strengths at offensive tackle? "I have good feet, and I am pretty quick for an offensive lineman. I have good hands, and I move laterally real good. That is about it."
Which position on the line are you being recruited to play on the next level? "I have played left tackle my whole life."
What are you working on to make yourself a more complete player? "Mainly, I am trying to work on my quickness and strength."
Where did you prep at out of high school? "I went to Andrew Jackson for three years, and I transferred to First Coast before the start of my senior season. I blocked for Leon Washington for three years. He starts at RB for FSU."
Who did you sign with out of high school? "Florida State."
Who were some other schools that offered you out of high school? "Gosh, Florida, Miami, FSU, Georgia, N.C. State, LSU, just a bunch of schools."
And then you enrolled at East MS CC? "No sir, I sat out a semester. I only needed another point on the ACT test, so I stayed home and kept taking it. I enrolled at East Central CC (MS) in the Spring of '04. I left after a semester and enrolled at East MS CC last summer."
Tell us about your freshman experience at East MS CC? "It was a good experience. It was a whole lot different being in Mississippi than Jacksonville (FL), but it was a nice learning experience."
Which schools are you currently looking at right now? "I committed to Ole Miss yesterday."
Why did you choose Ole Miss? "I went up there for their Spring game. They have a nice campus and environment. Their coaches seem real friendly and they know their football. I do not know. I just like Ole Miss. I have heard a lot of good things from some people about Ole Miss too. They have a couple of guys from Jacksonville on their team, and they say a lot of good things about it. I like their new indoor center too. I just feel real comfortable up there."
Word has it that your teammate, Korey Raymond, committed to Ole Miss; did that play a factor in your decision? "Not really, I just wanted to go."
Was this your first college practice or game you have attended this Spring? "No sir, I went to one of Florida's practices in March. I just went over there to see some of my friends."
Do you feel solid with your decision? "Yes sir, I do not go back on my word."
Aubrey is on track to graduate in December.
