James Patterson turns heads at scout.com combine

James Patterson (QB, Noxubee County, MS) - Arguably Mississippi's top quarterback prospect attended the scout.com combine that was held in Starkville last Saturday.

The following information was revealed during our interview at the combine:

What did you measure in it at today? "Like 6' 1", 211."

What was your forty time? "I ran a 4.89 forty. I can do better than that though. I usually run in the high 4.6's to low 4.7's."

What was your vertical? "31 inches both times. That is about right for me."

How long have you been starting for Noxubee County? "This will be my third year."

What were your stats as a junior? "I had like 2, 500 yards passing and 1, 500 yards rushing. I think I had like a total of 37 TD's."

What are your strengths on the field? "My arm strength and my accuracy, yea, my accuracy is my biggest strength."

What do you need to work on for the next level? "I need to work on my speed, my quickness, feet quickness."

Which camps are you going to attend from here on out? "Georgia Tech. I mean USM, Auburn, MSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi Valley State, Alabama, and Jackson State."

Which colleges are recruiting you the hardest? "Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Ole Miss and MSU."

Did you receive any calls on the first day that the colleges were allowed to call you (started on May 1st)? "Yes sir, Ole Miss called me this morning."

Which colleges are standing out right now? "Southern Mississippi."

Anymore? "No sir, just USM."

What all do you like about USM? "I just like their program. They produce good players. They graduate like 85% of their players."

What will be the factors for you when it comes decision time? "I just want to go to a good program that graduates their players. That is it."
