The following information was revealed during our interview with Corderick Govan:

What are your strengths at linebacker? "My speed and knowing how to get to the ball. I am real aggressive too."

What do you need to work on for the next level? "I need to gain some weight, and I will get faster. That is about it. Everything else will work itself out."

How long have you been starting for Charleston? "For three years."

What were your stats as a junior? "I had 107 tackles, 6 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, and 1 defensive TD."

Any awards? "I was named 1st Team All-State, Defensive MVP in Region 2(3A), All-Area, and All-District. I made basically every award you can get, state wise."

Have you set any personal goals for your senior season? "My team goal is to win state. Personally, I want to have more tackles than last year and hopefully sign a D1 scholarship. Another goal I want is to play in the Army All-American bowl and the MS/AL all-star game."

Which schools are currently recruiting you the hardest? "Ole Miss and MSU. This week, alone, I have had a lot of visitors come by the school. They are planning on giving me some offers."

Which colleges have been by your school this week? "Iowa State, Memphis, Alabama, and Arkansas State."

Who was the first college to contact you by phone since the start of the contact period (May 1st)? "Ole Miss, Coach Orgeron called."

Anymore calls? "No sir."

Which schools are at the top of your list? "Ole Miss and MSU."

Any offers? "I received 2 from Ole Miss and MSU. Both of them offered me a full scholarship."

What stands out about Ole Miss? "Well, Ole Miss stands #1 right now with me. I put State right behind at #2."

What do you like about Ole Miss? "Ole Miss has top of the line equipment. Coach Orgeron seems energetic and fun to be around. They are not too far from home either, so."

What do you like about MSU "The thing I like about MSU is they discipline you there. If you do something wrong, you get punished for it. They discipline you the right way."

Now that you have visited both Ole Miss and MSU unofficially; what are their differences? "The facilities, in my opinion. Ole Miss impressed me more than MSU when it came to the facilities."

What other factors will you look at when it comes decision time? "Well, education is the number one thing. I want to go to a school with the right education. Football wise, I want to go to the place that gives me the best chance to win. I want a chance to win championships. I think both Ole Miss and MSU will give me a chance to win, but the number one thing will come down to who can give me the best education."

What do you want to major in? "Business Management."
