Parish Brown talks about official to Ole Miss
The following information was revealed during our interview with Parrish Brown:
What did you average as a freshman at Kennedy King CC (Chicago, IL)? "Out of high school, I was set to go to Albury State, which is a D11 school. The summer of 2003, I went up to Kennedy King for an open try out. Coach Dildy was impressed with me, and he asked me to come play for him. I did. I averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists that year."
Did you garner any awards? "No, I did not. That was off of the bench. I came off of the bench and did all that."
What are your strengths on the court? "Shooting and getting it in the bucket. On defense, I will lock you up too."
What are you working on the most? "I continue to work on my shooting and ball handling. I have actually been working on everything to improve my game."
How did Kennedy King's season go this year? "We started off with a good season and lost two of our key players to academic problems and then the season went down. I mean, we lost two key players, like our leading rebounder and second leading scorer."
What did you average? "I averaged 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists."
Any awards? "I was our Conference's Player of the Year. I also made 1st Team All-Region, and I played in the National Juco All-Star game in Team USA."
Have you taken any official visits? "I just got back from Ole Miss."
How did your Ole Miss visit go? "It was a nice town. I got to know the coaches and the big people like their Chancellor and stuff. It is a good academic environment. I got to meet all of the players. They were all nice. I looked around and stuff. It was a pretty nice visit."
Where does Ole Miss stand? "Actually, I just got off of the phone with one of their coaches. They said they were real interested in me, and they said their guards are not up to par. He asked me to stay patient (on a scholarship offer), and that he was very interested in me."
Have you lined up anymore official visits? "Yea, I have Florida Atlantic this weekend and Kent State after that. I am talking to Long Beach State about setting up a visit right now. I am also still talking to USM, Illinois State, and Indiana. I will probably end up visiting all three of those schools."
What will look for when you are trying to make your decision? "I want to be in a situation where I can continue my education and have an opportunity to play ball."
