Mississippi's Top Quarterback?

Tim Buckley (QB, Madison Central, MS) - Tim recently received a scholarship offer from the University of Mississippi. We were able to catch up with Buckley at the Nike Combine that was held at Ole Miss last Sunday.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Tim Buckley:

Which position are you being recruited to play on the next level? "Quarterback."

Is that important to you; to stay at QB on the college level? "Yes sir, very."

What are your strengths at QB? "My ability to be a dual QB, throwing and running."

What do you need to work on for the next level? "Probably my drop. I think it is a little crooked. Probably to the left a little bit."

How did your junior campaign go? "Pretty good. I had about 1,500 passing yards and 15 passing TD's. I had a little bit of rushing on the side."

Any awards? "I made 1st Team All-Metro, and I am considered a top player in the state of Mississippi."

Have you received any early scholarship offers? "Ole Miss has offered me."

Which colleges have caught your eye? "Oh, Ole Miss, but there are a lot of schools I like."

Have you received any phone calls during the May evaluation period? "I got one from Coach Orgeron (OM head coach)."

What do you like about Ole Miss right now? "They have a pretty good football deal going on. They have real nice facilities too."

How do you feel you stacked up at the Nike combine? "Pretty good. I saw some good talent, and I saw some people who did not take advantage of being out here. I think I took advantage."

Who was the best WR you saw at the camp? "The WR from Whitehaven (Curtis Echols)."
