Top DL in the Bayou State?

Kentrell Lockett (DE, Boutt, LA) - The Hahnville product is arguable the top defensive line prospect in the State of Louisiana. As a junior, Kentrell had 70 tackles, 15 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, and 15 deflections for the 12-1 Hahnville HS Football Team. Kentrell attended the combine that was held at Tulane last Saturday and simply dominated the one on one drills.

We were able to gather the following information from Kentrell Lockett after the combine:

Tell us what they measured and weighed you in at today. "They had me at 6' 4 1/2", 208. I have been running track, so I lost a little weight from all of that running, but I always gain it right back."

What was your recorded 40 time, shuttle, and vertical? "I ran a 4.8 forty. I think I had a 4.5 shuttle and a 32.5" vertical."

How do you feel like you competed today? "I felt good. I think I did especially well on the pass rushes."

Which combines have you attended and where do you go from here? "I went to the Nike combine that was held at Ole Miss last Sunday, and that is it. I am not sure where I am going after this."

Which colleges have attended a practice of yours this month? "Nebraska, UCLA, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi, West Virginia, Texas Tech, and Southern Illinois."

Any phone calls? "About all of those schools have called."

Who called first? "Ole Miss."

Which coach has stood out the most so far? "The recruiter from Ole Miss. Coach Wilson went to school down here and coached at O. Perry Walker. He is a cool cat."

Which schools are now at the top of your list? "I do not know right now."

Who all has offered? "UCLA, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Memphis, West Virginia, MSU, and USM.

Kentrell carries a 2.8 GPA and has yet to take the ACT test.
