Special Note (* indicates Ole Miss has offered)
*Greg McLroy (QB, Southlake, TX) - Left early this morning after throwing yesterday. From what we have gathered, the Rebels liked what they saw. Greg went to Texas' camp today
Malouf (QB, Oxford, MS) - Has a good sturdy build, around 6' 2", 215
and a live arm. Has great footwork and sees the field very well.
Charlton (QB, Southern Chester, PA) - Nice build, around 6' 4", and
a pretty strong arm. As with Malouf, they are both green due to Mathew only playing
QB for one year and Vaughn running a Wing T offense during his career, but you
can tell they both have good athleticism
Meridian, MS) - Simply amazing, that is all we can say about Cordera. The kid
came in at 6' 1", 237 and ran a 4.51 and a 4.52 on his forty times. Cordera
has dominated the scene and is arguable Mississippi's top prospect.
Freeman (RB, Niceville, FL) - Has a nice blend of power and speed, although
we would like to see Devon improve his quickness for the next level.
Hicks (FB, Madison Central, MS) - Wow, this kid is special. Although Reggie
plays tailback for Madison Central, most project him at the FB position on the
next level. Having said that, Hick has some pretty darn good speed and could be
another Brandon Jacobs for Ole Miss. He also
possesses great hands as evident in the passing drills.
Crawford (RB, Cordova,
TN) - One of the top overall prospects at the camp today. Has great power and
Lewis (WR, New Orleans, LA) - Has the best hands out of all of
the WR's I have seen at any of the combines and camps this year.. Another thing
that impresses us about Lewis is his ability to stop on a dime. Kendrick is not
going to be a Te' Biddle, but he could be a rich man's Kerry
*Terry Levy (WR, Kosciusko, MS) - Has the complete package; height, speed, and athleticism. Once Terry is focused on one position, the sky is the limit.
Torris Magee (WR, Oak Grove, MS) - We raved about Torris at the Nike combine at Ole Miss a few weeks back, and everyone in attendance now knows why. Without a doubt, the top sleeper in Mississippi and maybe the South. Like Terry, he has all of the tools you are looking for and is very polished. Big time player who will eventually move up the want list on a lot of boards.
*Shay Hodge (WR/DB, Morton, MS) - A little scat back is the best way I can describe Shay's game. Very thin and raw but has tons of ability. Quickness is Shay's game and he also possesses very long strides which makes him deceptively fast.
*Ricky Dixon (WR, Reserve, LA) - Ryan Perrilloux's top target last season is just a play maker, but for some reason, it would not shock me if he ended up at LB or SS on the next level. A very broad shouldered youngster who could grow into another position.
(WR, St Augustine, FL) - Tim Tebow's top target is in attendance and he runs the
best routes out everyone at the camp. Very polished and great speed.
Dickson (TE/DE, Ocean Springs, MS) - Looks to be a solid 6' 2", 230
pound prospect. Richard is deceptively fast and very strong for a young man his
size. Very sound, technique wise, and is simply a playmaker out on the field.
*Jonathan Massey (TE, Gautier, MS) - Runs well in open spaces for a man his size.
Wallace McLaurin (TE, Jackson, MS) - Probably the biggest tight end prospect at the camp. Just a very sound football player who plays with good techniques.
Odom (LB, Jackson, MS) - Along with Cordera, could be the top prospect
in Mississippi this year. Derrick ran in the 4.5's on his forty times and runs
like a deer. Reminds me of a young Patrick Willis.
*Corderick Govan (LB, Charlston, MS) - Another player who is deceptively fast due to his long strides. We use the word playmaker over and over, because that is what the game of football is all about, and that is what Govan is, a playmaker. He just keeps making play after play out on the practice fields.
*Dominic Hopson (LB, Pascagoula, MS) - Hey, add another name to the long list of outstanding LB's in MS this year. This kid is a player. Has legs as big as a trunk and can flat out play the game of football. We now see why Ole Miss has offered.
Marvin Smith (LB, Velma Jackson, MS) - Marvin has been playing WR in a lot of the one on one drills with the LB's. The kid can flat out get it for a man his size.
Shomari Clemons (dB/LB, West Monroe, LA) - Clemons, you could tell, wants to get physical out there but the hitting is off limits for now. Could wind up at linebacker on the next level.
*Justin Woodall (S, Oxford, MS) - Made several outstanding plays in the one on one drills. Batted down balls on both Shay Hodge and Kendrick Lewis. Has great leaping ability, which gives him the advantage on most jump balls. Has great leaping ability, which gives him the advantage on most jump balls. Has great field awareness and picked off 4 passes in the 7 on 7's. Easily the best safety prospect at the camp.
C. J. Bailey (CB, Moss Point, MS) - This boy just loves to compete. Will head to USM next Saturday, then MSU the following day, and off to FSU's 3 day camp. Again, we are surprised at how polished he is for a CB that has played QB his whole life. Has great lateral movement and was without a doubt, the best CB prospect at the camp. It would not surprise us a bit if some serious D1 offers came Bailey's way in the very near future.
We will be providing a lot more information from Ole Miss' Senior Camps in the days ahead.
