Augie Garrido: "Ironically this game was decided with the bunting game. They profited from it. Clearly that set up their runs and was the separation between the two teams. Other than that it was a pretty even game. It's ironic that we have bunted over a hundred times and they haven't had to bunt much. But that's the way baseball is. It's all about the unexpected."
Mike Bianco: "A great college baseball game. It's not easy. I'm proud of the guys the way they hung in there with the game starting last night and going into today. Our guys never quit. We battled from the beginning. In games like this, it's about big plays and big pitches and big at-bats. Mark Wright jumped up and caught a ball in left field (that was almost a home run). And then he had the big base hit that scored the two runs."
Bianco on the bunts which led to the runs: "That's just baseball. It's not like we don't ever bunt. They (Texas) bunt a lot. We are in the top half of the SEC in sac bunting. In this type game you have to do those type things."
Anthony Cupps on starting the day in the top of the fourth: "I just wanted to come out and attack the zone and go as hard as I could for as long as I could."
Mark Wright on catching Seth Johnston's long high fly ball at the top of the left field wall to prevent a home run that would have made it 5-2 UT at the time: "It was close. I had my hand on the wall when I jumped up and caught it. It might have gone out if I hadn't caught it, I'm not sure."
Bianco on Wright's comment about the catch: "It sounds better if you say it would have gone out." (laughter from all)
Stephen Head: "We know if we play Ole Miss baseball we can play with anybody in the country. We just knew we were going to win even when we were down 2-0 and had to go home last night. We just felt confident and went out and made things happen today."
