Nick Stephens is a hot commodity

Nick Stephens (QB, Flower Mound, TX) - After having to sit out his junior campaign due to the district's transfer rules, Nick Stephens has caught the attention of college recruiters from his performances at the college camps and combines.

Nick has now been offered by Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Baylor, UTEP, Illinois (verbal), Colorado (verbal), and UTEP. Arizona is also close to offering.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Nick Stephens:

Which schools are keeping in weekly contact with you by way of phone? "Right now, it is mostly Ole Miss and Oklahoma State. I talked to Josh Huepol at Arizona, and he said they were about to offer. They wanted to talk with my coaches and parents first, so."

The main schools who are recruiting you are? "Ole Miss and Oklahoma State. I do not know if I would call Arizona a main school yet. We are just getting started. My dad owns a company in Arizona, so we will see."

Give us the list of colleges that have offered you a scholarship? "UTEP, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Illinois and Colorado have told me I have an offer, but nothing has come in the mail. And Arizona is getting close."

Which schools have you visited recently? "I took unofficial visits to Oklahoma State and Ole Miss. I also went to Oklahoma State's camp."

What did you learn about Oklahoma State during your trips? "Basically, I just got to know their staff and campus. We met with their Chancellor and Athletic Director. We got comfortable with each other, and they showed us everything that is on their campus."

What most stood out about Oklahoma State during your visits? "Just how much effort they are putting in to make it better. They have like 5 huge donors. They are going to build a new weight room, locker room, and stadium. And I like how hard their coaches are working for their kids."

What did you learn about Ole Miss during your trip? "Have you ever been to Ole Miss? If you have not, you ought to see their new football facility. That place is awesome. I love their facilities, and Coach Mazzone is a great guy. They have a great staff. Once again, it was just about getting comfortable with the whole program."

What stood out the most about Ole Miss during your visit? "Just how friendly their coaches are. Every coach I ran into talked to me and my mom and dad. Everybody we met were just great people."

Do you have any future unofficial visits on tap? "If I am going to visit somewhere else, it will be Arizona. I need to get to learn more about their coaches and campus."
