Nick Stephens gives his verbal to the Rebels

Nick Stephens (QB, Flower Mound, TX) - After having to sit out his junior campaign due to the district's transfer rules, Nick Stephens caught the attention of the college recruiters from coast to coast after his performances at the college camps and combines.

Stephens was so impressive this spring and summer, that he was offered by the likes of Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Baylor, UTEP, Illinois (verbal), Colorado (verbal), and UTEP without ever throwing a ball in varsity football.

Nick ended the recruiting process when he committed to Coach Mazzone from Ole Miss this morning. Oklahoma State was his second choice.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Nick Stephens:

Rumor has you committing to Ole Miss? "Yes sir, I committed to them today."

Who came in second place? "Oklahoma State. Me and my parents went over every little detail, and it was real close between those two schools. Oklahoma State is a great school too."

What put Ole Miss over the top? "We decided the opportunity is better at Ole Miss. They have a QB who is doing great things (Michael Spurlock), but he is a senior. It will be wide open next year. Ole Miss is just the best fit for me."

Are you through taking your visits? "I do not know right now, but if I had to guess, I am done. I do not think Ole Miss would want me to take anymore visits, and since I know where I am going to school now, what is the point?."

Will you attend anymore camps? "No sir, there is no need to."
