Future of Ole Miss baseketball has arrived

The Rebel Hoop's Squad received a tremendous boost this summer with the arrival of 7 of their 8 signees.




The following signees are now on campus:

Bobby Clark
Bobby Clark (3G) - Averaged 18.8 points, 8 assist, and 5 rebounds per game at New Creation before transferring to Genesis.

Rated as one of the Top 100 prospects in the country by ESPN coming out of high school.








Dwayne Curtis

Dwayne Curtis (C) - Transferred from Auburn and has been in school for the last year. Averaged over 10 points and 10 rebounds a game during last five games of freshman season at Auburn.

Will have 3 to play 3 at Ole Miss.

 










Trey Hampton
Trey Hampton (3G/SF) - Hampton was Alabama's sole junior on the '03/'04 1st Team Class 6A squad.

Trey averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the '04/'05 campaign.









Clarence Sanders
Clarence Sanders (2G) - Sanders finished the season with a 23.7 point per game clip and was named the Panhandle's Player of the Year for his play on the court.

MidWest Scouting Services
, which is one of the more reputable junior college scouting service on the market, ranks Sanders as the # 3 juco player in the country, regardless of position, and the #1 shooting guard.

Sporting News
ranks Clarence as the #2 shooting guard in the country. Hoop Scoop ranks Sanders as the # 7 overall juco player in the country and the #1 shooting guard.







Mike Smith (C/PF) - Averaged 10.2 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists for Laurinburg Prep school which won the National Championship. Laurinburg sent 18 players off of its squad to the D1 level.



Xavier Webb
Xavier Webb (3G/SF) - Averaged 27.8 points, 14.6 rebounds, and 7 block shots per game while helping Atwood to the State Championship.

Xavier was named the District 13 MVP for the second straight year and was also named Mr. Basketball (1A) in the State of Tennessee.








Marquis Young

Marquis Young (C/PF) - Marquis made a name for himself last summer when he was rated as the #21 overall and #5 center prospect at the Reebok ABCD Camp.

Averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 assists for the season. He also broke two tournament records for block shots in a game. Young was named All-Chicago and All-Conference for his play on the field.
