LaDerrick Vaughn takes in unofficial at Ole Miss

LaDerrick "D" Vaughn (Ath, Memphis, TN) - The 6' 2", 208 pound athlete from Manassas committed to the Rebels in May. Vaughn has since taken an unofficial visit to the University of Mississippi.Did this visit reaffirm his commitment to Ole Miss?

The following information was revealed during our interview with LaDerrick "D" Vaughn

Have you attended any camps this summer? "No sir, I only went down there and visited Ole Miss."

Camp or unofficially? "Unofficially."

Did anyone accompany you? "No sir, I just went down there on my own."

Was this your first time to see the University of Mississippi's campus? "Yes sir."

What did you think? "I liked it a lot. We toured their indoor facility, and I got a chance to look around their campus."

Was it more or less than what you were expecting? "I did not expect anything because it was my first time to go down there."

What stood out about Ole Miss during your trip? "I think the football stadium and the baseball stadium."

Do you play baseball? "Yes sir."

Position(s)? "I pitch and play first base."

Would you like to play both sports on the next level? "No sir, I think I am just going to just stick with football. I do not need to try and do all of that extra stuff. I might get behind in school if I did that."

Now that you have seen Ole Miss; do you feel comfortable with your commitment? "Yes sir, it is a nice place."

Has your commitment to Ole Miss deterred the other schools from recruiting you? "Not really (laugh). I still hear from Memphis, Alabama, Vandy, Auburn, and Tennessee."

Which position do you see yourself playing on the next level? "Well, Coach Orgeron told me I could play running back, linebacker, or safety. He just does not know where yet."

Which position is best suited for your talents? "I do not have a favorite position. I just like to play.

Vaughn carries a 2.9 GPA and an 18 on the ACT.
