Matthew Malouf talks recruiting

Matthew Malouf (Ath, Oxford, MS) - Matthew will get to display his talents at the Vaught tomorrow night. Will this be the first of many performances at Ole Miss' stadium?

The following information was revealed during our interview with Matthew Malouf:

How have you been? "Great. We had a walk through today at Ole Miss' stadium for tomorrow's Jamboree."

What does it feel like to get an opportunity to play at the Vaught? "It will be fun. We are not really going to do too much offensively because there will be a lot of scouts there. We will just run our basic plays. But I think it will be a lot of fun playing there."

What most have you improved on during the offseason? "I just know the game so much better. I am reading defenses much better. I have gotten better in practices at checking the plays. We run the no huddle in practice. I get us in and out of all of the plays. Last year, I just ran what ever they sent in. I feel much more comfortable now."

Where did you camp at this summer? "I went to Ole Miss, MSU, Memphis, USM, and Alabama "

Where did you perform the best? "I think I performed equally well at all of them except (Mississippi) State. I had a 99 degree temperature, and I just did not feel right."

Any new offers? "Ole Miss and Memphis."

Which colleges have stayed in contact with you this summer? "Ole Miss, Alabama, and Memphis. They keep in contact with me the most. USM a little bit."

Which coaches have you called this summer? "I have called the Memphis coaches, Ole Miss coaches, and my father has called the Alabama coaches a few times. I have just been so busy."

Where do you stand with your recruitment right now? "I am probably going to wait until after the season before I commit. I do not want to commit too early to anybody."

Are you concerned that you might not get a fair shot to play QB at Ole Miss if you were to sign there? "I think they are going to give me a fair shot. I do not know why they would not? Everybody else is recruiting me for QB. If I am getting beat out by my junior year, then I have no problem moving. I want to be out on the field. But yea, I think they are going to give me a fair shot, if that is where I sign."
