The following information was revealed during our interview with Cassius Vaughan:

Which position do you currently play for East? "I switch from QB to RB to WR. On defense, I play CB and S. I also return punts and kickoffs."

Which position do you spend the majority of your time on offense? "I usually start out at RB and work my way around to the other positions."

What did Ole Miss recruit you to play? "As an athlete. There is no particular position, just plain athlete."

Which position should you play on the next, in your opinion? "I mean, I think I am pretty good at all of the them, but I would be more of a dominant force if I just played one position."

Tell us about your junior season. "We had a bad season because we are suppose to be a powerhouse and we lost in the 1st round of the playoffs. We lost a lot of seniors last year, but we will be ok this year."

What were your stats for the year? "I had 1,500 rushing yards and 20 TD's. On defense, I had a couple of picks, but I did not keep up with them or my tackles."

Did you garner any awards? "I was named All-State (4A), Best of the Preps (Commercial Appeal), and I was our Team MVP."

Talk about your sophomore year? "That was my first season to play football. I got off to a great start. I had 1, 000 yards rushing in the first four games, and then they moved me to quarterback. I played qb for 4 games and then they moved me back to running back. I ended up with 1, 600 yards rushing and 24 TD's."

How is your senior season coming around? "We are 1-1. We lost to Melrose by 1 TD. We play Craigmont tomorrow. We are looking pretty good. We should go pretty far."

You stats for the season? "I did not play in our first game because I had a tender ankle. Against Melrose, I had 1 TD but that is all I remember."

Talk about why you committed to Ole Miss? "It was more of a family decision. I sat down with my coach and parents, and we all felt that Ole Miss was in my best interest. Their coaching staff showed me a lot of attention. But Coach Orgeron, just how much intensity he brings to Ole Miss. It kind of just pulled me to Ole Miss."

Which colleges offered you a scholarship? "I got offers in the mail from Memphis, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Alabama, Louisville, and that is about it. I had some verbals too, but I really did not put too much into it."

You mentioned Arkansas and Memphis has being two of the your finalist the last time we spoke; who else were you considering? "Really, to me, it would have to be Alabama. They came on really strong, but Ole Miss was just too much."

Any calls from the competing staffs since you committed to Ole Miss? "Coach Shula (Alabama) called, but that is about it."

Will you still take your allowed official visits? "Yes sir."

But you are solid with your commitment to Ole Miss? "Right now, yes sir."

What is your current academic status? "I do not know what my GPA is but I am definitely going to qualify."

Have you taken the ACT test yet? "No sir."
