Recruiting update with Frank Harry

Frank Harry (DT, Pearl River CC, MS) - One of the country's premier junior college defensive tackles is off to another big start for the defending champions.

The 6' 3", 285 pound tackle had 7 tackles and 3 quarterback hurries against East Mississippi CC in their season opener. Frank followed that up with a 6 tackle, 1 qb knockdown, 2 qb hurries, 1 tackle for a loss, and 1 fumble recovery performance in game two's victory.

Pearl River's season was delayed due to Hurricane Katrina and they have only played in two games.

How has Frank and his team adjusted to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina?

"You just pretty much stay in shape and try to stay focused. You are constantly worried about your family and friends from back home (Frank is from Angie, LA), but you know you have a job at hand. It is hard to stay focused, but you just have to find a way," commented Frank Harry.

What does Frank feel like he has improved on the most this season?

"My run stopping. I am getting in the hole a lot quicker. I am also making more plays and coming up big on the key plays."

Which colleges are keeping in weekly phone contact with the 4 star recruit?

"Ole Miss, USM, Kansas State, Baylor, ULL, Alabama, TCU, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State. Pretty much all of the schools who have offered me."

Has Frank received any new scholarship offers?

"No sir, still all of the same schools, the ones I just mentioned. Alabama is the only school out of that group that has not offered me, but I think they are getting really close to offering."

Has Frank had a chance to set up his official visits?

"Not yet. I have not set up any yet."

Is Harry still on schedule to graduate in December?

"Yes sir. My classes are going very good. I should have no problems. I only need a couple of classes anyway."

Which colleges are in the running to receive an official visit?

"I am looking at all of the schools that are looking at me. I really have no clue right now."

Has Frank had a chance to take in a few unofficial visits?

"I have actually gone to two Ole Miss practices with my coach. I also went to a USM game."

What did he learn about Ole Miss during his visits?

"Just how hard they practice and how up tempo everything is up there. It is real peaceful up there. I like it a lot up there."

What did he take away from his USM visit?

"Pretty much the same things. USM has been recruiting me ever since I was in high school when nobody else really knew who I was."

Does this give USM the edge?

"I can not say it gives them the edge. I just know more about them than anybody else."

Pearl River CC faces Jones CC this Thursday.
