Talks about official to Ole Miss

Chavez Grant (CB, Miami, FL) - One of Miami's top corner backs took an official visit to Ole Miss over the weekend. We called to see how his visit went.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Chavez Grant:

Your team was off this past weekend, right? "Yes sir. It felt good to come in the bye being 5 - 0, but we are still not even half way through our season. Our first goal is to win stat, but we would like to do it in style and go 15-0."

Did you make it in on your scheduled official to Ole Miss over the weekend? "Yes sir. It went good. I liked it."

Did anyone accompany you? "No sir, none of my family or friends came down there, but I met some other recruits on the plane."

Who was your host over the weekend? "Michael Hicks was my host on Friday, and Patrick Willis was my host on Saturday. They were good guys. Mike is a redshirt freshman, so he does not get to play. Patrick plays linebacker for them and he was pretty good, real good."

What did you learn about Ole Miss that you did not know from before? "Mainly, I met their coaches and players. I did not know their facilities were that good. They have a new training room, just a whole new indoor complex with a field, training room, player's lounge, weight room, indoor pools, man, just everything. I have never seen anything like that. They have some impressive facilities."

What stood out the most about Ole Miss during your trip? "It would have to be their coaches. I really liked their coaches. I did not know they were like that."

How did your meeting with Coach Orgeron go? "It went good. He is a real energetic guy like Coach Ice, our head coach. They are like the same type of guys."

Did you feel like you fit in with the overall atmosphere at Ole Miss? "Yea, their players are like regular guys. They did not think they were any better than me. They just like to have fun. And I could really see myself coming through that Grove on game days. I have never seen so many people like that. They have a lot of nice people in their community that support their program."

Were you asked to commit during your visit? "No, he did not put any pressure. He just expressed his desire for me to become a part of their program."

Where does Ole Miss now stand with you? "I told Coach Orgeron that they were in pretty good shape. They are on top, but I have not been anywhere else yet. I told him that I have to visit Georgia and South Carolina first, but that they were in real good position with me."

Have you lined up your official visits with Georgia and South Carolina? "No, but I will probably get that done some time this week."
