Chris Stewart has some surprising news

Chris Stewart (OL, Houston, TX) -'s #30 nationally rated offensive lineman has announced that he is graduating in December, which is music to the ears for Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, and LSU.These four schools have made Stewart's final cut.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Chris Stewart:

How is your season going? "We are 5-3. We have Homecoming against Klien Forest on Friday. Who ever wins that game is going to the playoffs. It should be an interesting game."

Now that you have announced you are graduating in December; does that speed up the recruiting process? "Man, it has only been the last couple of weeks before I knew for sure that I was going to be able to get out in December. It puts a whole lot more pressure on me to make a decision."

Have you had a chance to set up your official visits? "Well, I went to Notre Dame in September. I am suppose to go to Ole Miss when they play LSU (November 18), and I am not sure on the other two (Texas A&M and LSU). It has been so crazy around here. We had to make up a bunch of games because of the Hurricane. We have played a game on just about every day of the week but Sunday. Next week we finish our regular season. I have not decided what to do with them yet."

Are you down to A&M, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, and LSU? "Yes sir, those are it. They have been with me the longest, and I have cut everybody else out."

Do you feel like you are in any closer to a decision? "I am not sure yet. I think after I take these visits I will be for sure. I mean, I have an idea, but I really need to visit all four schools first before I make my final decision. I just need to get them scheduled."

What will set the schools apart? "I do not think it is something the school can do. They can not send me to Disney World or anything (laugh). It is more about where I feel the most comfortable at while I am on their campus. If I feel totally comfortable, then I will know I have found my home for the next 4 to 5 years."

Chris carries a 4.6 GPA and a 1640 on the SAT.
