Still committed?

Brandon Jackson (LB, Memphis, TN) - We called to check on Brandon's season and commitment status.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Brandon Jackson:

How is the season? "Our season is over now. We finished 4-5. We did not do too good."

What happened? "It was a mixture of things. When Coach Freeze (now an assistant at Ole Miss) left, we put in a new offense. It took everybody some time to get use to."

How did you play this year? "I did pretty good. I do not remember my defensive stats, but I had 4 TD's. Three of them came while I was at tight end, and I also returned an interception for a TD to win the game."

What most did you improve on this year? "Mostly on getting my speed down because I hurt my knee last Spring. I understand coverages better than I use to. I have a lot better read if it is going to be a run or a pass. I do not give in to the fakes."

Are you still committed to Ole Miss? "I think so. This week, I got an offer from Bowling Green and Memphis. I have not heard anything from Ole Miss in about 4 or 5 months, so I do not know what is going on there."

Have you personally called Ole Miss to ask what is going on? "I contact Coach Freeze every once in a while. He is the only person I talk to over there."

What did he tell you? "We just talk about how everything is going down there, and I tell him how everything is going back at his old school. He is really the only person I have any contact with from Ole Miss, so I try to stay in contact when I can."

Are you concerned about your lack of contact from Ole Miss? "A little bit. I am kind of concerned. People like Memphis, Bowling Green, and Arkansas State have been calling me every week, so."

Have you had a chance to set up your official visits? "I am going to Bowling Green on December 3rd and Memphis on December 9th."

Brandon carries a 2.85 GPA and a 20 on the ACT.
