Will Ole Miss look out West for a TE?

Rob Overton (TE, Hayward, CA) - Scout.com's #7 nationally rated tight end prospect is having a big year, statistically, but is still looking for his first scholarship offer.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Rob Overton:

How is your season going? "Out team is not doing too good, but I am having a pretty solid year. I have 60 catches for 683 yards and 3 TD's so far."

What most have you improved on this year? "I would have to say my blocking. I have improved on my blocking a great deal."

Have you had a chance to set up your official visits? "No, I have not."

Which schools are you in talks with about visiting? "Utah, UNLV, Oregon, and Ole Miss."

Who is coming after you the hardest? "Probably Utah and UNLV."

Which colleges have offered you? "No one has yet."

What is holding them back? "They mostly say they want to see some more film. I am not sure."

Who do you think is closest to offering you? "Probably Oregon then UNLV then Utah."

Reports had you leaning towards Oregon; is this true? "Yes sir.

What do you like about Oregon? "Their facilities are amazing. The atmosphere around their college is too. Their coaches are real good and stuff like that."

Tell us about your relationship with Ole Miss. "Well, I went to their camp last summer and did really well there. Their coaching staff is real energetic, and I liked that. Coach Neilson came to my school last Spring. We have been talking ever since."

Has Ole Miss been in talks with you about taking an official visit? "Coach Neilson told me that we wanted to see some more film on me before he sets up my visit."
