How is your season going? "We look pretty good. We won in a big way in our first playoff game. Our school had never won a playoff game before, so it is kind of a big deal around here. We are steadily making some history. We play D' Iberville on Friday. They have a real good team so we will have to be on our toes. Antwan (brother) is also having a big year. He already has 11 TD's. My youngest brother, Rashun, he has had a high ankle sprain all year, but he still has 5 Td's We are all doing good."
What are your stats for the season? "I have close to 2, 500 yards rushing and 28 Td's"
Grade your play. "If I had to give myself a grade, I think I would give myself a passing grade. I did a really good job of becoming a vocal leader on our team. I have always been kind of quiet, so I never said too much to my teammates. My coaches wanted me to become more vocal and I have. My footwork, vision, and definitely my hands have also improved a great deal from last year."
Did you attend a college game this past weekend? "Yes sir, I went to Ole Miss with my mother, brother, assistant principle, and some friends from school."
How did it go? "It is always a good experience when I am around Coach Orgeron, Hughes, and just their whole staff. I have a lot of respect for that staff. I always like going to college games, but as far as the atmosphere, we have a bunch of Ole Miss fans at our school. They are always telling me how great their game day atmosphere is so I had some really high expectations going into the game. It did not meet what they were saying, but I did enjoy the game a lot."
Were you expecting an electric atmosphere from two teams with losing records? "Not really because I know they are struggling. I was not expecting anything because the coaches have been truthful with me, but it was not as good as what the students from my school were saying."
Does this hurt Ole Miss? "To tell you the truth, not really, because that was not what I was really looking for. I am looking for the bond between the coaches and the players, not the atmosphere at the game. I mean, they did not gain any points, but they did not lose any either."
Did you stick around after the game was over to talk to the coaches and players? "Oh yea, we stayed around for a few hours."
How was the bond between the Ole Miss coaches and players? "It was excellent. I talked to all of the offensive linemen, some of the running backs, and even some of the defensive players. I liked how they talked about how much they liked their coaches. Everybody gets along real well up there. I feel like I fit it. It is like a big family atmosphere, just what I am looking for."
What other games have you attended this season? "I have been to the MSU/Alabama, USM/Alabama, and LSU/Auburn games."
How was the bond with the Alabama players and coaches? "They had probably the best atmosphere, and like I did at Ole Miss, I talked to their players and coaches and really bonded with them too."
Who came with you on your Alabama trip? "My daddy and brothers."
Talk about your LSU trip? "The atmosphere was crazy. Them and Bama had the best atmospheres. I did not get a chance to talk to their players, but I talked to their coaches. Me and Coach Henson always have a good talk. It went as I expected it to."
And MSU? "Their atmosphere was probably like Ole Miss', but they have been my hometown team and my favorite team growing up. I know some of the players they recruited last year. That makes them one of my top teams. I know Coach Croom and McCoy are going to take care of me if I sign with them."
Does that make MSU your leader? "Yea, I can probably say they are my #1 team right now, but I like Alabama and LSU a lot too. I am going to go check out USM this weekend and see how it goes down there.."
Have you set up your official visits? "I am going to Ole Miss on December 2nd, MSU on January 22nd, and I forgot my Alabama and LSU dates, but I am going to visit them for sure."
