Official Visit Tidbits
We have been informed that RB prospect, Derrick Davis, was also scheduled to visit Ole Miss this weekend but decided to reschedule because he wanted to take his visit with (RB) Cordera Eason. Meridian is currently in the playoffs, so both prospects will wait until after their season is over before they take in their official visit to Ole Miss.
(RB) Chris Brown had a family matter he had to take care of this weekend so he will not be visiting, but he does have intentions to reschedule his official visit with Ole Miss.
(DE) Kentrell Lockett's team also won in the third round of the playoffs last Friday, and like Cordera and Derrick, will have to wait until after his season is over before visiting.
(WR) Duke Calhoun has been added to this weekend's visit list. Duke is very close with current Ole Miss commit, Cassius Vaughan, so the Rebels wanted to get them in together.
We can not release his name right now, but we are expecting Ole Miss to bring in an additional big time prospect this weekend. We will release his name when the timing is right.
Hot List Tidbits
We have learned that (DT) Frank Harry has been removed off of the hot list. He simply did not progress as hoped during his sophomore campaign, and we do not expect the Rebels to bring Frank in for an official visit.
Two defensive tackles that have moved into Ole Miss' hot list are Don Mosely and Leslie Stirrups. They are teammates at Hillsborough Sr in Tampa (FL).
Don Mosely is listed as 6' 1", 293 and runs a 5.5 forty. He visited Iowa State on November 11th and has been offered by Auburn, Ole Miss, Iowa State, and West Virginia.
Leslie Stirrups is listed as 6' 1", 275 and runs a 5.1 forty. Leslie committed to South Florida but is very "soft" with his commitment. He has also been offered by FSU, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Georgia.
In fact, do not be shocked if both Don and Leslie come in for official visits to Ole Miss, and it could be as soon as this weekend. We will keep you posted.
Another addition to our hot list goes by the name of Abre Leggins out of Evans High school (FL). Abre is a 6' 4", 270 pound lineman who could go either way (OL or DL).
We hear that Ole Miss will in fact sign a kicker if they can find the right one. When we find out some hot names, we will let you know.
We do not expect (DE) Dexter Manley to be eligible to play for an SEC school for the 2006 season. Therefore, he has been removed off of Ole Miss' hot list.
We have learned that (OL) Marvin Arnold will not be graduating until May.
Our best guess is that Ole Miss will sign two tight ends now. They had hoped to sign three, but they simply are not in on enough good ones to reach their goals. The two most likely candidates to sign are Jason Hawkins (Dec prospect) and Jonathan Massey.
We believe Ole Miss' goal is to sign three December juco offensive linemen. They are Aubrey McPhadden (current commit), Corey Actis, and Clarence Bailey.
If they were able to land those three, plus their high school commits in John Jerry, Robert Ramirez , and Josh Davis, we do not look for Ole Miss to sign but one more offensive line prospect in February. The two main candidates for that slot would go to Zhamal Thomas and Daverin Geralds..
