Louisiana's All-Time TD leader set to sign

Marcus Green (RB, Bastrop, LA) - Marcus has had a long road to getting himself qualified, but the journey looks to be over, as Marcus made a 19 on his latest ACT test.

"Marshay" was Louisiana's all-time touchdown leader as he rushed for over 4,000 yards and 50 TD's during the past two seasons. Marcus had 98 rushing TD's during his career at Bastrop. Green was named Louisiana's Class 4A Player of the Year for the '03 and '04 seasons.

Green took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss last Saturday for the LSU game. We called to see how his visit went.

The following information was revealed during our interview with Marcus Green:

How did your visit go? "It was great. I got a chance to talk to the players and coaches. It was great."

Did you get a chance to talk to Rogers Loche? "Yea, he said he could not wait until I got up there. He was happy that I passed my ACT test. The coaches also told me the same thing. They were happy I passed the test and said they could not wait until I got there."

What did Rogers say about his transition to the D1 level? "He told me that the speed is different and you practice a whole lot harder (laugh). Rogers told me that he hurt his shoulder in practice and was taking a redshirt. He was just glad that he was going to get his redshirt."

Did anyone accompany you on your trip? "Just me and my father."

When will you sign with Ole Miss? "As soon as we get the paper work finished. Coach Slocum said he would call me this week and get that finished."

So you are still waiting to get cleared? "Yes sir."

What were your thoughts on Ole Miss' team? "I was thinking that they need some players down there to help them in certain spots, but I thought they played with great energy and competed hard. They just need some help in certain spots."

Do you feel like you are one of those players? "Yea, yes sir, definitely. They need a breakaway guy. They are really missing that guy. I think I can be that guy."

Does that motivate you to work even harder? "Yes sir. That tells me to get stronger, faster and quicker. It also tells me I can help the team out next year."
