Clarence Bailey is going to be a Rebel
He marks the second offensive lineman on the 1st Team JC Gridwire All-American team to commit to the Rebels today. Bakersfield CC product, Corey Actis, committed this morning.
The following information was revealed during our interview with Clarence Bailey:
Rumor has it that you committed to Ole Miss? "Yes I did. I called Coach Orgeron to let him know just a little while ago."
What was his response? "He was thrilled about it."
How does it feel to get this behind you? "It feels great right now."
Who came in second for your services? "South Carolina."
Have you informed them of your decision? "No, but I am about to call them as soon as I get off of the phone with you."
Why did you go with Ole Miss? "I have been thinking long and hard about it. Ole Miss has been with me since day one. Coach Deleone has known me since high school. He has been recruiting me for basically four years. Coach (Deleone) is also real good friends with my high school coach, so that is a good combo."
Do you feel 100% sure of your commitment? "Yea, I will sign with Ole Miss on Wednesday."
Which colleges gave you a written scholarship? "Well, there are so many. Lets see, written, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Syracuse, Florida State, Miami, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Kansas State, Kansas, Rutgers, man just a bunch of them. I have over 20 written offers."
Which awards have you received so far? "I was named Offensive MVP for our team, 1st Team All-American (JC Gridwire) and All-East Coast. I was also a Street & Smith All-American, and I think that is it."
Clarence is a December prospect.
