C.J. Bailey names a leader

C. J. Bailey (CB, Moss Point, MS) - The preseason South Hot 100 member led the state of Mississippi in interceptions this season with nine.

"I had a read good season. I led the state in interceptions with nine, and I had 54 tackles, 33 solos, 6 pass breakups, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 QB furry in eleven games," said the playful C.J. Bailey.

Although Bailey had an outstanding season, the awards have not matched his stats.

"I did not even make the Clarion Ledger All-State team and I led the state in interceptions. I do not understand that. I am going to use that as motivation."

Bailey was Moss Point' starting quarterback the past two years, but this season, they used him strictly at cornerback.

"We went 6-5, but they did not let me go both ways. It was all messed up. Our record would have been better if they would have let me."

Which colleges have now offered CJ Bailey a scholarship? "USM and ULL. Everybody else has been waiting because it is so late. I am basically on the back burner. I do not like it, but there is nothing I can do about it."

Has CJ lined up any official visits?

"I am going to USM (1/20), and ULL (1/13)."

Who else is in phone contact?

"Memphis, LSU, and Central Michigan."

Where will CJ most likely end up?

"I have always wanted to go to USM since I was a little kid."
