Tennessee and Arkansas have given Duke a written
scholarshipoffer in the past couple of weeks and Alabama has given him a verbal.
Ole Miss and Memphis were the only two D1 programs who offered Duke prior to the
end of his senior campaign.

revealed during our interview with Duke Calhoun:
Have you received
any awards recently? "I was named MVP for our high school team. I also made
the Auto Zone All-American Bowl, and I was named 1st Team All-Shelby by the Commercial
Which colleges visited your house before the start of
the dead period? "Memphis has been by the crib. Arkansas has too. Ole Miss
has been by a couple of times, and Tennessee has been by once."
college made the biggest impression with you during your inhome visits? "I
would have to say Ole Miss. Memphis and Arkansas too.
What did the Ole
Miss coaches say that impressed you so much? "That I can come in and start
for them next year, and that they are very happy I am coming in for an official
visit with them. I took an official visit to Memphis the weekend before last,
and I went to Alabama last Saturday for an unofficial."
your official visit lineup look like? "I went to Memphis (12/9), and I am
going to Ole Miss (1/13), Arkansas (1/27), and Tennessee (1/20)."
did Tennessee and Arkansas start contacting you? "Tennessee started calling
about three weeks ago, and Arkansas starting calling around the same time."
colleges have now given you a written scholarship offer? "Arkansas, Tennessee,
Ole Miss, Memphis, Arkansas State, Tennessee State, and Alabama has given me a
verbal offer but nothing on paper."
How did your Memphis official
visit go? "It went very well, very well."
What stood out the
most during your visit? "The practices are very fun, and they are all like
a big family."
Talk about your unofficial visit to Alabama. "It
was OK. Everything is in orde. They were just getting ready for their bowl game."
stood out the most about Alabama during your visit? "It was very organized."
visit felt most at home? "Memphis, most definitely."
have been with you from the start of your recruitment? "Memphis, Ole Miss,
Arkansas State, and Tennessee State. Memphis has been on me since day one."
you have a leader yet? "Memphis is the leader because that is the only place
I have taken an official visit to. Somebody has to beat out Memphis."
will you be looking at while you are on your official visits? "I want to
like the staff, offense, and play for a good passing QB. Other than that, just
where I feel the most comfortable at."
