4 Star DE feels the "love" at Ole Miss
The following information was revealed during our interview with Kentrell Lockett:
Did you make it in for your Ole Miss official visit? "Yea. My visit went great. It was great."
Did anyone accompany you on your visit? "My mother, daddy, and my two little brothers came."
How old are your little brothers? "They are 15 and 13."
Do they play football? "Oh yea, they love it (laugh). They got a name to live up to, but they are more talented than I was at that age. They are going to be real."
How did your family like Ole Miss? "My momma loved it. My daddy loved it. My momma was very comfortable with it, very comfortable. We all were."
What new did you learn about Ole Miss during this trip that you did not know from before? "How much love they show you. They show you a lot of love, a lot of love. The people come up to you everywhere. The gas stations, their stores, their downtown, their campus, just random people from everywhere. They all know who you are, and you are like dang, how do these people know who I am? Man, I have never felt the love like I felt at Ole Miss."
What stood out the most about Ole Miss during your trip? "The players. Me and some of the players made a tight bond. And the coaches, me and Frank (Wilson) and "O" (Orgeron), and really, just all of their coaches. We just bonded. It is like we are family now, especially with the players."
What other prospects were with you during your official visit? "It was me, DT Hayward Howard and WR Duke Calhoun. It was like we had been together for ever. We bonded like brothers."
How did your meeting with Coach Orgeron go? "It was straight. We just talked about what is in store for me if I come to Ole Miss and me playing and stuff."
Did he ask you to commit? "No, he did not pressure me at all."
Where does Ole Miss stand with you? "Ole Miss stands great with me right now."
Are they your leader? "Well, basically, you can say that as of right now, but I still have to visit Alabama next weekend."
What will you be comparing Alabama to while you are on your visit? "I want to see if the love is going to be like it is at Ole Miss. I will check out the atmosphere and see if I am as comfortable as I was at Ole Miss. It will be hard to match Ole Miss', but I am going into it with an open mind."
