2nd South Panola '07 prospect commits to Rebs

Jeramie Griffin (LB, South Panola, MS) - Arguable the nation's premier football program has sent its second '07 prospect to the Rebels tonight.

"I like their coaching staff, and I like how they recruit. They are on their way to building a championship team, and I want to be a part of it. They were my favorite team growing up too. And it is so close to home. My support group can come see me play too," commented Jeramie Griffin.

Griffin has also had several family members play for Ole Miss and currently one of his closest friends, Chris Strong, committed to the University of Mississippi recently. Did this play a role?

"Yea, it really did. I grew up watching all of my cousins play at Ole Miss, and then when Chris committed, it made it that much easier. He is one of my best friends, and it is going to make the transition from high school to college that much easier."

Were there anymore schools in consideration before Jeramie decided on the Rebels?

"I was getting a lot of letters. But the main ones I was keeping up with were Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, and MSU."

Now that the recruiting process has ended before it barely begun, Griffin can now focus on helping South Panola to a 4-Peat. The Tigers are riding a 46 game winning streak.

"Yea, we take a lot of pride in that. We want that 4-peat so bad we can taste in our mouths. We just have to watch ourselves from becoming overconfident."

Last season the 6' 0", 230 pounder moved to FB after playing TB his sophomore season.

"It was a tough transition but I really got use to it. I had over 1, 100 rushing and 14 TD's, and we had three backmates rush for over a 1, 000 yards, so it was not like we were getting the ball all of the time. But none of us minded. We just wanted to win. I do not care where they put me at in college. I just want to be on the field."

And where will Ole Miss play Griffin?

"Well, I am moving back to tailback this year. I really do not know where Ole Miss wants me. They just want me."
