Johnny Brown commits to Ole Miss
"The coaches are so excited about what's going on at Ole Miss that I wanted to be a part of it," said Johnny Brown. "Also, my brother, Ryan Buckley, is a police officer for the University Police Department. My Dad came with me to Junior Day and he loved it here. There's no reason for me not to commit to Ole Miss."
Ole Miss had 7 more Mississippi prospects commit to Ole Miss before Johnny. Did they play a factor in his decision?
"Yes, that influenced me a lot. Three great players from South Panola have already committed. If they feel Ole Miss is a great school, why not me too?"
The 5' 11", 190 pounder almost single handily carried his team to the state championship game last season. For the year, he rushed for for 1, 788 yards and scored 24 TD's. He was named Region 4(3A) Player of the Year for his on the field accomplishments.
As for next season, Johnny makes it clear what his goals are for now
"I want to lead the state in rushing and Td's I am trying to break all kinds of records. But most importantly, I want to lead my team to the state championship. What ever it takes to get there, I want to do it."
Johnny marks the 8th prospect from Mississippi to commit to the Ole Miss Rebels.
Brown will attend the Scout.com All-American Combine in Oxford on April 30.
