NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Seimone Augustus scored 30 points and Sylvia Fowles added 21 and 13 rebounds to lead No. 3 LSU past Mississippi 91-73 Friday in a quarterfinal game of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Scholanda Hoston added 14 points for LSU (26-2), which plays the winner of the Florida-Kentucky game on Saturday.
Armintie Price scored 23 points, Ashley Awkward had 19 and Ashley Johnson added 17 for Ole Miss (16-13).
LSU needed only a few minutes to demonstrate its superiority. After Price tied the score at 12-12, the Lady Tigers responded with a 15-0 run sparked by a layup by Augustus.
Hoston then sandwiched a layup between a pair of 3-pointers. LSU's defense smothered the Lady Rebels under the basket and Ole Miss couldn't take a shot without being harassed or having the ball stolen first.
When Ole Miss scored a basket by Carla Bartee, LSU was up 27-14.
The Lady Tigers put up some impressive first-half numbers. Augustus had 18 by the break, followed by Hoston with 14 and Fowles with 12.
In the second period, a 3-pointer by Ashley Johnson and a basket and a 3-pointer by Ashley Awkward drew Ole Miss to 63-49, prompting LSU coach Pokey Chatman to call time out with 15:39 left.
Have you had a U.S driver's license for more than The Lady Tigers put the ball in Augustus' hands, who scored on a fadeaway jumper. Aided by four free throws by Erica White and a putback by Quianna Chaney, LSU's lead was back to 20 and Ole Miss never threatened again.
LSU shot 55 percent compared with 36 percent for Ole Miss. LSU pulled down 53 rebounds, including 10 by Ashley Thomas, while Mississippi had 30.
The Lady Rebels made 9-of-23 3-pointers, including five by Johnson.
