Chaz Ramsey talks about his Spring visits

Chaz Ramsey (OL, Madison, MS) - Chaz has been a busy man this Spring as he has collected six scholarship offers and visited six colleges.

Which colleges have offered?

"I have offers from Auburn, Vandy, USM, MSU, Memphis, and Houston," added Chaz Ramsey.

And which colleges has Chaz visited this Spring?

"I have been to Ole Miss, MSU, Auburn, LSU, Memphis, and USM. All of those visits were for Jr Days."

What was the number one thing that stood out about each visit?

Ole Miss - "They are a real enthusiastic bunch with Coach Orgeron being the head coach."

MSU - "I think they are turning their program around. Coach Croom is a great guy. We got to talk some."

Vandy - "They stress academics, and their football program is coming around. Bobby Johnson told me, 'Chaz, look at where we were and look at where we are now.' I think he is doing a good job."

Memphis - "I stopped by for the day. Their coaches are really nice. I got to visit with them."

Auburn - "I got to visit with Coach Tub. He is a nice guy. They want me to play offensive tackle. I think I am a little small for that position, but they think I have quick feet."

LSU - "They just built a new athletic center. They have some really nice facilities. I also got a chance to go in their stadium for the first time. It was pretty amazing. That stadium is a big place."

Did any one campus feel more homey than the others?

"Not really. I did not get a chance to really tour their campuses. I just toured their football facilities. But, this summer I plan on going back to get a better feel for their environment."

Which college is recruiting Chaz the hardest?

"I say Vandy, LSU, and Auburn. Those are the main ones and MSU. Then I guess you could say Florida, Tennessee, and Arkansas. They started to send some stuff to the school about a month ago."

Who is at the top of Chaz's list?

"I liked all of them. I have to go back and visit those schools this summer and find the one I like the best."

The 6' 4", 270 pounder could play several different positions on the next level.

"Auburn offered me at offensive tackle. Vandy offered me at defensive tackle. MSU offered me at center. USM, Memphis, and Houston offered me at offensive guard."

And which position does Chaz believe he is best suited for?

"Probably on the offensive line, at either guard or center. That will give me the best chance to move to the next level."

The 1st Team All-Metro and Conference selection has transferred from Jackson Academy to Madison Central.

"I plan on playing college ball. I thought this move would better prepare me because playing in 5A ball is a much quicker game."

Madison Central is to name their new head coach today and rumor has it that the former Amory and Wayne County head coach, Bobby Hall, is to be the man.

"I have not heard who it is going to be yet."

Chaz Ramsey will participate at the scout combine at Alabama on April 29th.
