Alex Williams talks about his visit to OM

Alex Williams (OL, New Orleans, LA) - The National 100 member committed to the Rebels back in February and took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss this past weekend. How did the visit go?

"It was great. I got to hang out with my boy, Robert Russell. We are tight. We grew up together and played at Laundry. He had a good game Saturday. Robert had an interception and a few tackles."

How long did Alex stay in town?

"I got there on Friday and left Sunday afternoon. My coaches and my teammate, Terrence Adams, went with me."

What new did Alex learn about Ole Miss?

"They have a good team coming up. They should be in the Top 10 when I get up there. We are going to make a run."

Williams had a chance to watch the offensive linemen at Ole Miss during the scrimmage. What were his thoughts?

"I tried to see if they had good feet. It looks like they got everything they need up there. They also have a great staff."

How does Alex stack up against the rest of the offensive linemen?

"I fit right in with them. At first, I thought they were going to be bigger than me, but I am just as big. I just need to put on 10 to 15 pounds of muscle."

Did Williams have a chance to take in the night life in Oxford?

"Robert, Terrence, Kendrick Lewis and I went riding around and just looked at everything. They had a high school prom on Ole Miss' campus. We went and checked that out, but we mostly played video games at the dorm."

How close are Alex and Kendrick Lewis?

"We grew up down the road from each other. He is back at O. Perry Walker now, and I just transferred there in January too. We have been hanging out a lot lately."

Did the coaches at Ole Miss have any time to talk with Allen before he left?

"Yes, I sat in their offensive line meeting on Sunday morning. I hung out with Coaches Kehoe, Wilson, and Orgeron. They asked me if I fit in up there. I told them I already felt like I was a part of their family. That is what I liked most about my visit. The whole dorm life is so live and fun. Everybody hangs out like a big family. There are not any cliques or anything. The environment up there feels like home. I also like their staff a lot. They get you all hyped up in practice, just like my high school coaches. My head coach at O. Perry Walker coached Frank (Wilson) when he was in high school. They are real tight. Like I said, it just feels like home away from home."

Has Alex had a chance to tour anymore campuses this Spring?

"No, I am happy with Ole Miss. They got everything I want."

Alex Williams will participate at the scout combine at Ole Miss on April 30th.
