Antonio White adds third SEC offer
"Coach Kline from Alabama told me that they just sent me a scholarship in the mail. I should be getting it any day," added the '05 All-State (Class 2A) selection, Antonio White.
The Dogs and Rebels have also offered.
"Those were the first schools to offer me. Ole Miss offered me, and then like two weeks later, I got one in the mail from MSU. You always remember those first offers."
Has White had a chance to visit any of the colleges he is interested in this Spring?
"I went to MSU's Jr Day, but that is it so far. I was suppose to go to Ole Miss' but my mother had to take the car to work. I really have not planned to go to anymore."
How did Antonio's MSU visit go?
"It went great. I got to watch them scrimmage."
What new did he learn about MSU during his visit?
"That they are going to be great in the future."
Which colleges are now at the top of Antonio's wish list?
"It is still the same. You know, the Mississippi schools and Alabama and West Virginia and South Carolina too. Nothing has really changed."
Is there any one school that is showing White the most love?
"State. State and Ole Miss."
Hollandale Simmons is now looking for a new coach.
"The whole coaching staff left to Perry Central. They were will be here until May, but they will not be here next year. It is kind of crazy around here. We do not even have a coach yet."
Who ever takes the job will have plenty to work with next year, as the Blue Devils are primed for another run at the state championship. What are White's goals for next season?
"First, I want to have a great season. Then I want to win District. Next I want to win the State Championship, and lastly, I want to graduate. Oh yea, I want to make the Dandy Dozen (Clarion Ledger) team too."
Stay tuned as we will have much more on Antonio's progress throughout his senior campaign.
White will participate at the scout combine in Oxford on April 29th.
