Chris Marve's recruiting profile

Chris Marve (LB, Memphis, TN) - If you are looking for the term student athlete, look no further than Chris Marve.

Chris has made the Honor Roll for three straight years at White Station and carries a 3.975 GPA. On the gridiron, Marve earned All-Region for the second straight season, and he is the only junior to be named a Team Captain in the past twelve seasons for White Station.

Last year, White Station went 8 - 4 and advanced to the second round of the playoffs due to their outstanding linebackers in Chris and Brandon Boykin.

Marve led their team in tackles (153) and solo tackles (124).

What are Marve's strengths on the football field?

"I love the game of football, which I will feel you have to have to play linebacker at the level that I expect out of myself. I feel I am an athlete, and that gives me the ability to make the plays at linebacker," added the soft spoken Chris Marve.

And what will Chris need to work on for the next level?

"I can always work on my speed (4.6 forty), quickness, and my overall athleticism to become a better player."

Have any colleges taken notice?

"I am mainly getting recruited by the SEC, Conference USA, and Ivy League schools. Miami has been writing me a bunch too. Vandy, Stanford, Louisville, Ole Miss, and Kentucky are recruiting me the hardest though."

Any early offers?

"Not yet, I am still waiting on my first offer. I think my size (5' 11", 220) might be hurting me some, but that is what the camps will be for; to prove them I can play for a guy my size."

Has Marve had a chance to take in any Spring visits?

"I have been to Ole Miss' Jr Day and Vandy's Spring game."

How did his Ole Miss go?

"I like the Ole Miss environment. They have top notch facilities. Their indoor is real nice. Their staff is ready and will do what ever it takes to win championships."

And what about Vandy?

"Their coaches are very hands on when it comes to talking to the players. Their environment is very family oriented. It seems like a nice play to play football."

Anymore colleges on Chris' wish list?

"I would like to check out Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and I would like to see what Florida State has, but they have not been recruiting me. The only SEC school who has not been writing me is Alabama, and I have always been interested in Alabama. I would like to see what their program is all about."

When it comes decision time; what will be the main factors?

"Their environment. Academics will be first and foremost. Secondly, their team chemistry, environment around campus, fan base, and just the whole feel of the university."

Chris will attend the scout combine in Oxford (MS) on April 30th.
