Luther Davis names his top schools

Luther Davis (DE, West Monroe, LA) - One of the country's most wanted prospects has confirmed that he will be attending the scout combine at Ole Miss on April 30th.

"Yes, I am coming. I am committed to come to the combine. Me and Ahmad Paige and Dominique Dade are riding up there together for sure. C.C. Carpenter, Will Blackwell, and Terry Carter are still trying to figure out what they are going to do," added the 6' 4", 260 pound DE out of West Monroe, Luther Davis.

The battle for Luther's services has heated up on the recruiting front.

"UCLA, Alabama, and Michigan all offered me recently. I have now been offered by LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arkansas, FSU, Miami,UCLA, USM, Notre Dame, and Michigan."

Spring practice starts on Monday for the defending 5A Champs, West Monroe.

"Yea, we are ready to defend our title. Tomorrow is the first day on a long but a much anticipated journey for us. I sprained my MCL the other day trying to power clean 250 ten times. Something popped loose. It is just a sprained MCL. I am already walking and it feels good. When I run, there is a little discomfort. LSU will be by on Monday and Auburn will be here on Tuesday. As long as I am practicing by May 10th, when USC comes to see me, I will be fine."

When did USC get involved?

"This past Tuesday, Coach Ken Norton Jr got in touch, and we have been talking on the phone ever since. They said if they liked what they saw in practice, they were going to go ahead and offer me."

Where does this put USC?

"They are one of my top schools now. I would put them up there with LSU, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Florida State, and Miami."

Reports had LSU leading for Luther's services.

"As far as their staff, they are pretty high up there, but if I had to pick tomorrow, I still would not know. I do not have a leader, but they are up there with the schools I just gave you."
