Johnathan Frink adds three new offers
What are Johnathan thoughts to being named to the All-Combine team?
"That is great. I knew there were some great linebackers there. I had a lot of fun and I tried my best. To be recognized as one of the best is a great honor for me," said the soft spoken Johnathan Frink.
Oxford held their Spring game on Friday. How did Johnathan do?
"Pretty good. I just got out of track, but we did real good. I am able to read the plays a lot faster now. The defense was given 20 plays to use, and I recognized them all before the ball was snapped. That is a first since I have been playing ball. I just read plays a lot faster now. I guess it is all due to experience."
Have any colleges come to scout Frink?
"Yes sir, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Memphis, and Mississippi State."
Has Johnathan picked up any new scholarship offers?
"I have. Stanford, Memphis, and Mississippi State. Ole Miss offered me last year."
Which colleges are now under consideration?
"I like all of those schools. Right now, Ole Miss is first on my list, but I am interested in everybody right now."
What makes Ole Miss so appealing?
"I talk to their coaches a lot. They know about me, and I know about them. I guess it is the familiarity. Also having Jamison (Hughes) going there is a plus. I would love to room with Jamison because we are cool. We just get a long so good and feed off of each other on the field."
What does Frink like about Stanford?
"They are a great academic school. If I get a degree from Stanford, I could basically get any job I wanted. Plus, they are always sending LB's to the league."
What about Memphis?
"I know they are lacking on defense, so I could play early there. I could help them out. I also like Coach Helton. He is a great guy. We have been talking some on the phone recently, and he has been coming to some of our practices."
What stands about MSU?
"I talked to Coach Grimes the other day. He is a great guy. He came by our school to talk to me. He told me that him and Coach Croom are coming by Tuesday. I know they have quite a few linebackers already there, but I think I could come in and learn."
