Chris Donald names two early leaders

Chris Donald (LB, Huntingdon, TN) - The recruitment of Tennessee's top prospect, according to, is starting to get interesting.

In April, Mississippi State, Michigan, and Memphis came to evaluate the Jackson Sun's 2005 Player of the Year.

May saw even more action as head coaches Phillip Fulmer (Tennessee) and Ed Orgeron (Ole Miss) came to scout M2005 Mr. Football Finalist.

Coaches Rick Minter (Notre Dame) and Vic Koenning (Clemson DC) also dropped by to scout Chris during the May evaluation period.

Ole Miss was the first school to offer Donald and the Vols, Tide, Memphis Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and the Clemson Tigers followed pursuit.

Stanford, Florida State, Miami, and Notre Dame are believed to be next in line to offer the young man out of Huntingdon.

Which colleges are now at the top of Chris' list?

For now, Donald said "it wouldn't be wrong to say" UT is his early favorite with "Ole Miss second on my list", reported this morning by Chris' home newspaper, the Jackson Sun Herald.

"I would say that the article (by the Sun Herald) is pretty accurate," stated Chris Donald.

Chris plans to camp at Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Alabama this summer, and if time permits, he will also camp at Notre Dame and Clemson.

Will Donald take any unofficial visits this summer?

"I plan on visiting Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Notre Dame before the season starts back up," added Chris Donald.

Is a commitment nearing?

"I hope to have it out of the way before the season starts. I will most likely commit after I take my visits and camps, which is in July. I really want to get it out of the way so I can concentrate on my senior season."

Donald also has some more good news,

"I made a passing score on the ACT test that I took in April. I have everything out of the way now."
