"I would not say that,
but I do know more about Tennessee than everybody else because I have been there
so much," added Harrison Smith.
Smith earned 1st Team All-State, All-Region,
and All-league honors as a junior after he collected 61 tackles, 11 tackles for
losses, 5 int's (two returned for scores), 3 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
But that is not where the buck stops. Oon offense, Harrison rushed for 1,312 yards
and 17 touchdowns on 155 carries. He also caught 32 passes for 446 yards and 6
If you are worried about grades, don't. Harrison carries a 3.77 GPA
and a 28 on the ACT.
It is no wonder schools like Tennessee, Ole Miss,
Auburn, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Clemson, and Vandy have offered
the young man a scholarship.
The biggest question remains; who is at the
top of Smith's want list?
"Besides the schools who have offered, I
am looking at Alabama and Miami."
Which colleges have come by Smith's
school to scout him?
"Just about every school who has offered me said
they were coming. The head coaches who have been by are Coach Fulmer (Tennessee)
and Orgeron (Ole Miss). Some assistants who have been by are Coach Mintor (Notre
Dame), Woods (Alabama), Shannon (Miami), and an assistant from Virginia Tech."
recruiters are still debating which position Smith is best suited for on the next
level. What are Harrison's thoughts on this issue?
"I think I am probably
better suited for safety because I like to hit."
What are Smith's
strengths on the field?
"My aggressiveness and being aware of everything.
My speed also helps."
Where will Harrison camp at this summer?
am not sure yet, but I will probably go to Tennessee and some schools like Alabama,
Ole Miss, and Notre Dame. I just do not know for certain yet."
