Meridian duo arrives at Ole Miss

One of the more highly recruited pair of running backs in Mississippi history have arrived at Ole Miss.

"I am up here now. I just got in Oxford around 1:00 pm today," commented the Gatorade Player of the Year, Cordera Eason.

"I am getting my ID right now."

And what about his running mate, Derrick Davis.

Has he arrived?

"I got here last week," added the '04 1st Team All-State running back who rushed for 1, 997 yards, Derrick Davis.

What will Cordera be working on this summer to get himself prepared for two a days?

"I am mainly trying to get back in football shape and build up my power and get my muscles ready for war."

Cordera participated in the MS/AL All-Star game this past Saturday.

"It was a great experience even though we lost. We all came together and just bonded. I played with a great group of guys. I would not take away that experience for anything. I just love to compete, and so did my teammates."

Cordera will enroll for the second session of summer school, while Derrick is already in enrolled for the first summer session at Ole Miss.

Have both been cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse to play next season?

"Yes sir," added Derrick Davis. "I got my papers in a long time ago."

"Oh yea," stated Cordera Eason. "We got them in a few weeks ago."

Rarely do you see two teammates who have competed against each other for the starting job sign with the same school. What makes these two so different?

"We just push each other," added Cordera.

"I think we both make each other better, and we both know that we need one another to be all we can be," stated Derrick.

It is no surprise that these two will room together this summer while they get adjusted to their new surroundings.

Is there any message they want to bring to the Ole Miss faithful?

"Tell them we just want to bring a championship to our home state."
