Isaiah takes in Ole Miss visit; Bama next

Isaiah Smith (LB, Columbia, TN) - One of Tennessee's top prospects took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss on Friday.

"Me and my father went to Ole Miss this morning and left this afternoon. We are at Alabama in a hotel right now. I am going to Alabama's Sr camp tomorrow morning.," stated Isaiah Smith.

How did his Ole Miss experience go?

"It was better than what I was expecting. Their facilities are top of the line. I did not know they had the things they had. I also like the small town atmosphere. Everything is real convenient to get to. Their practice fields, indoor facility, and stadium are all right next to each other."

What stood out the most?

"Really, just how friendly their staff was and how they work with their players. They seem like a hard nosed school and defense. That is what I am looking for."

Was a scholarship extended?

"Yes sir, they offered me a full scholarship. It kind of came as a surprise. They said if I came and worked out a day in front of them, I would probably get one. So yea, it kind of shocked me they gave me one without working out in front of them."

Did the Ole Miss staff ask Smith to commit?

"No sir, they said to take my time, but they really want me to play for them because they are going to be hurting at linebacker pretty hard after Patrick Willis graduates."

What got Smith interested in Alabama?

"I have liked Alabama for a long time. I like how they play defense. It is close to home, and I want to play in the SEC, anywhere in the SEC."

What will Isaiah be looking for while he is on his trip to Alabama?

"I will ask questions about their academics and if they have my major. I also want to look at their depth chart and see who they are bringing in. I will ask questions like that."

And what did he learn from his Ole Miss trip with these factors?

"That they have my major, TV broadcasting. I also might major in Physical Therapy, and they have one of the best medical programs in the country, so that was good. They pretty much have everything I am looking for. And like I said, they need some help at linebacker too, so that was pretty big for me."

Which colleges are now at the top of Smith's list?

"Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Vandy, Louisville, and Memphis."

Where will Smith camp after Alabama?

"I am going to Tennessee on Saturday and Memphis on Monday. That is all I have planned for now."

Isaiah had 20 receptions for 310 yards and 3 touchdowns as a junior. On defense, he had 60 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.

Tennessee and Ole Miss have offered.
