Jamison Hughes back in the "action"
"I had two passes thrown my way the whole year. It got kind of boring. Nobody would come my way. It pretty much took me out of the action," added the 6' 2", 197 pound Jamison Hughes.
So what did the Charger's staff do to get Hughes back involved?
"They moved me to a hybrid linebacker spot, kind of like strong safety against Cleveland."
And what were the results?
"I had my best game of the season. I had a pick, a caused fumble, and 14 tackles."
Does Jamison like the move?
"I get way more action than I did at cornerback. I feel like I am back in the game now. I will not lie. It was frustrating back there at corner with nobody to throw it my way. It was kind of like being a defensive end, but they always run it away from you and never pass the ball. I have been totally out of the game all season long. I feel like a new man."
Oxford is off to a 7-0 start, for the second straight year, and face (at) Hernando Friday, (home) Clarksdale, and close the season with their bitter rival, (at) Lafayette County."
Can they pull off their second straight undefeated regular season?
"One game at a time, but that is a goal of ours. First things first though. We have Hernando, and you know big ole Bradley Sowell is licking his chops. I got a big soup bone waiting on him though (laugh). They got a good team too. But I am going to be lined up right across from Bradley. We are just going to have to get after it. Watching him on film is pretty scary. I am glad he is going to be on my side (at Ole Miss) after Friday."
Jamison had some encouraging things to say about the Ole Miss football team.
"They are playing some ball now. They are playing real good. They played good Saturday and good against Georgia too. Their defense is just so young and aggressive. I can not wait to be a part of it."
