Kevin Cantinol commits to Ole Miss

The Rebels were looking to add a long big man to the early signing period and they did exactly that with the commitment of 6' 9", 215 prospect Kevin Cantinol.

Kevin has the wingspan of a person who is 7' 2" and will most likely grow another inch or two before it is all said and done.

The French native that grew up on the Caribbean's island of Martinique moved to Clearwater (FL) after his sophomore season and has had a big impact on his high school team.

Last season Cantinol averaged 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 block shots.

Cantinol brings the ability to block shots, get up and down the court, and can shoot it from 3 point land.

Kevin took an official visit to Ole Miss and then visited Toledo (10/6) and Winthrop (10/13). He was scheduled to take an official visit with UNC Greensboro this weekend but decided to end the recruitment process this afternoon.

"I had seen enough," added Kevin Cantinol. "Ole Miss' environment, academics, and the chance to play for all of those good big men they have on campus was enough for me. I love how they love to push it up the court as much as possible. I feel like I am pretty athletic for a guy my size, so that style of play fits my strengths. I also liked the Southern hospitality over there. Everybody is just so nice, and the staff is great. I am very excited about having the opportunity to further my career both academically and athletically at Ole Miss."

Kevin marks Ole Miss' second public commitment. Swing guard, Zach Graham was the first to commit.

Ole Miss will host Christopher Warren (PG) on October 28th.
