Rebs still in game for Army All-American?

Luther Davis (DE, West Monroe, LA) - The 6' 3", 260 pound defensive end found out last Thursday that he was an Army All-American selection and has been on Cloud 9 ever since.

"It felt great. I am still enjoying the feeling of it. All of my family is still enjoying it. I can not describe how good it feels to be selected to that game. It has been a dream of mine ever since I have been in high school to play in that game," added Luther Davis.

West Monroe is off to a 7-0 start and a national ranking by USA Today.

"We are ranked #24 by USA Today and #1 in the State (of LA). I wish we could play John Curtis Christian today because a lot of people think they are the best team in the state, but we know the truth."

How has this Army All-American stacked up this season?

"Going into our last game, I had 42 tackles, 3 sacks, and 7 QB knockdowns through six games."

Has Luther begun to set up his official visits?

"I went to Louisville on September 16th. It was nice up there. I have not set up the others yet, but I am going to take the rest of them after the season is over. I will try to take a few unoffiicals here and there."

Which schools will Luther see unofficially?

"I went to LSU a few weeks back, and I went to the Texas/Oklahoma game last weekend. Oklahoma offered me the Tuesday before the game and invited me to the game. I was thinking about going up to the Ole Miss game Saturday, but they are playing on the road.. This is really my last Saturday to have open before the end of the season. I want to go see somebody play, I just have not decided where yet."

Which colleges are still in the running for Davis' services?

"Louisville, USC, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, Auburn, and FSU. Yea, those seven."

Are there anymore schools that Luther did not list who still keep in weekly contact?

"Michigan has been calling a lot. They are probably too deep at my position though. They are having a good recruiting class too at my position. It would probably be my junior to senior year before I ever got much playing time if I went there. Coach Orgeron from Ole Miss still text messages me some. He text me after their Georgia game and told me I could be their rush end. They have been playing a lot better. I like how their ends are used."

When it comes decision time; what will be the main factors?

"Just where I can make the quickest impact, and which school has my major, Criminal Justice. I have really been shopping around with that. It is a tie between LSU and USC for the best Criminal Justice program."
