Finding pure cornerbacks is never an easy task on any level of football. Good cover skills are critical attributes for cornerbacks hoping to excel on the college and professional levels. Eric Gray is just such a cornerback and he attended summer football camp at Ole Miss. Gray is considering the Rebels but will he reach a decision before the coaches can initiate phone contact on September 1st? Will he wait until the process allows a coach to use his personality to influence his decision?
"My favorite is Alabama," said Gray. "There's a good chance that I will make an early commitment. My family and I talked it over and it is getting close to the right time to do it."
Gray, a 5-foot-10.5, 176-pounder from West Morgan High School in Trinity, Alabama, was very impressive at the Ole Miss summer football camp and the Nike Camp in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Both camps made an impression on him as well.
"I plan to make unofficial visits to games at Alabama and Ole Miss this fall," said Gray. "I like both campuses but I want to see both programs on game day."
Gray made 56 tackles and three interceptions as a junior. He also rushed for over 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns on offense. Gray also competes in basketball and track. West Morgan opens their season on the road against East Lawrence High School.
