OM to receive visit from Arkansas commit

Jerry Franklin (DB, Marion, AR) - One of Arkansas' top players is getting ready for the playoffs to start on Friday.

"We are very excited about our game against Lake Hamilton. They have a good team, and we do too. It should be an exciting game," Jerry Franklin.

Marion brings a 7-3 record to the table, but it is their star safety/tight end who has shined the most.

"I have played pretty well. I have gotten better defensively, and I understand the game a little better. But the playoffs you have to take it up a little bit and play harder. That is what everybody remembers you by, crunch time."

What are Franklin's stats for the season?

"I think I have 6 interceptions and a couple of fumbles, but I am not sure on my tackles. I have 11 receiving TD's on offense, and like three rushing TD's, 2 kickoffs and 2 punts for TD's."

Jerry committed to Arkansas recently and discusses why.

"It is the home state school. I wanted to stay at home."

Franklin was down to Arkansas and Ole Miss before deciding on the Hogs. Are the Rebels now totally out it?

"I am still going to see how my Ole Miss visit goes. I liked the small college town atmosphere when I went there this summer. I also like the coaches a lot. I just want to see how things go on my visit."

When will that that visit take place?

"I am taking an official visit there from December 1 - 3. I am going to Arkansas from December 8-10."

If there is one thing the Hogs have over Ole Miss it would be what?

"It is the home state. I know most of the guys that are going to Arkansas this year, but it is so far away. Ole Miss is right down the road, like an hour and half away."

And what does Ole Miss have that Arkansas does not?

"It's just so close to home."

Are there anymore colleges who are still actively recruiting Jerry?

"Memphis calls every now and then."
