North Carolina commit has OM on his mind

Fonterrian Ingram (S, Atlanta, GA) - The Rebels are searching from coast to coast to upgrade the talent level from their current squad.

One player that has impressed them is McNair product, Fonterrian Ingram.

The 5' 11 1/2", 195 pound safety prospect, who ran a 4.58 at the scout combine this past Spring, committed to North Carolina this summer but the Tar Heels have recently changed staffs.

"That has really made me rethink things," commented Fonterrian Ingram. "I am not sure where I stand (with my commitment to North Carolina) right now."

Is Fonterrian now considering some other colleges?

"I am looking at Ole Miss, MSU, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland."

Which colleges have now offered Ingram a scholarship?

"North Carolina, Ole Miss, Maryland, Tulane, Mississippi State, and West Virginia."

Are there anymore schools involved in Fonterrian's recruitment that have not been listed?

"Georgia and Marshall have been talking to me about taking an official visit."

What does Ingram like about each school?

Ole Miss - "I just like Ole Miss. I like all of their stuff. I like their team and coaches the most. I do not really know too much about their school because I have never visited, but me and Danorris Searcy are going to take an official visit over there to check it out."

When will the visit take place?

"The first weekend in December unless we are still in the playoffs."

- "They just offered me, and they are a D1 school, to be honest."

North Carolina- "I liked their coaching staff, well, their old coaching staff. I also like their facilities and environment. I just like everything about North Carolina."

- "I just liked Maryland as a kid. I do not know what is interesting about them. I do not know. I have never been to West Virginia either."

- "I am not really interested in Georgia. They are already good. I am looking to start my freshman year, so I am looking at the schools who need some help. Georgia and Marshall already have players. I just hear they are looking to offer me."

There continues to be one school who is showing Fonterrian the most interest.

"North Carolina. They always call me and my father and send stuff in the mail. I get something from them just about every day from them."

Is it safe to say that Ingram is at least leaning towards North Carolina?

"I am inbetween I am right in the middle of everything. It is like this. If Coach Thigpen leaves, I am going to another school, straight up. But if he stays, I am most likely staying. He told me there was a good chance he was staying."

Has Butch Davis been in touch with Ingram since he was hired?

"No, not yet."

Fonterrian had 102 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 interception, and 5 fumble recoveries as a junior playing the linebacker position but has since been moved to running back this year.

"I played the first three of four games going both ways (RB/LB), but they moved me to just tailback in the fourth game. I have over 800 yards rushing and 43 tackles for the year."

McNair faces Franklin County in the first round of the playoffs Friday night.
